The marriage ceremony is still ongoing at the Etal Hall, Kudirat Abiola Way, Oregun, Lagos. Nigerian comedian, Jedi , has today, January 15, 2016, married his sweetheart, Olajumoke , in a star studded event in Oregun, Lagos State.    The couple who had gotten engaged after Jedi proposed during one of his events in June 2015, got married today, with the marriage ceremony is still ongoing at the Etal Hall, Kudirat Abiola Way, Oregun, Lagos. Among list of celebrities pictured at the event are Gbenga Adeyinka the 1st, Basorge Tariah Jnr, Bovi, Mudi, Debola Williams, Tunde Ednut, Ushbebe, Bisoye Fagade, Tosin Martins, D Don , amongst others. Tompolo dissociates self from Friday’s bomb attack on Escravos gas pipeline

Ex Militant leader, Government Ekpemupolo (aka Tompolo) has dissociated himself from Friday’s attack on Escravos gas pipeline, in the Warri area of Delta state. *Tompolo Tompolo, who spoke through his media aide, Paul Bebenimibo, condemned the attack, even as he urged those who carried behind it to change their ways. He said: “I am not responsible for the attack and I condemn it as a dastardly act. I am aware that some persons might want to destroy oil installations and link it with me that was why I said before time that I have nothing to do with it. “I could not have gone ahead to carry out such action knowing that every finger will be pointed at me because of my case with the Federal Government.”

Chief of Naval staff, Vice Admiral Ibok Ibas on Friday, described the bombing of the gas pipeline supplying gas from Escravos-Warri to Lagos and Abuja, as sabotage saying that Nigerian Navy has consequently being put on alert to contain any other act of sabotage. Nigerian soldiers are pictured undertaking a herculean task of moving a vehicle over a water body in the north-eastern part of Nigeria as they route Boko Haram insurgents from their enclaves. The soldiers during a military operation   Nigerian troops pass through lots of hardships on the war front which are not mostly caught on camera. In the above picture, the soldiers in the North were seen devising a means to transport their security vehicle over the water as they attacked the makeshift camps of Boko Haram members.   Boko Haram has been attacking Nigerians and other neighbouring countries since the year 2009 during which thousands of people have died, maimed and others displaced in the northern part of the country.

S*x workers on the streets   Commercial s*x workers on Friday, January 15, took to the streets the streets of Nakuru town, Kenya, to protest the murder of their colleague identified as Grace Wangari.   Although details are still sketchy, Mpasho TV reports that the deceased Grace was found dead at Tumaini house in the town. "Release Metuh now," PDP tells EFCC

The statement alleged that since Metuh was arrested on Tuesday he had been kept in cell where he was daily threatened by officials of the agency. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to immediately release its National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh. This is contained in a statement signed by the PDP National Legal Adviser, Mr Victor Kwon on Saturday in Abuja. The statement alleged that since Metuh was arrested on Tuesday he had been kept in cell where he was daily threatened by officials of the agency. The party asked the EFCC to respect the law and immediately release Metuh or charge him to court in line with the provisions of the laws if it has a case against him. An Abuja High Court has asked the the Nigeria Police to pay up to N1 million damages to a man for going against standard practice. An FCT High Court sitting in Jabi, on Friday awarded N1 million damages against the Nigeria Police for detaining one Mark Sani for seven days without trial. According to Vanguard, Justice Halilu Yusuf who awarded the cost said the Police breached the fundamental human rights of Sani. Yusuf said although the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria provides for arrest by the Police, upon suspicion of anybody who committed a crime, such a person must be charged to court within a reasonable period of time. The counsel to Sani, Mr Chinedu Akubue had told the court that Paul Udofia, the first defendant bought a plot of land situated at Lugbe, Abuja from Sani in 2014. Akubue said the land in question was later revoked by the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) later in 2014, which prompted Udofia to report to the police. H

NAN recalls that the NIMC had earlier pegged September last year for the enforcement of the NIN before critical services could be rendered to Nigerians. Mrs Hadiza Dagabana , General Manager Legal Services, National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), on Saturday made some clarifications on the planned enforcement of the use of the National Identification Number (NIN). In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja, Dagabana said it would be enforced by the relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs). NAN recalls that the NIMC had earlier pegged September last year for the enforcement of the NIN before critical services could be rendered to Nigerians. The suspects were said to have forcefully carried the ballot box while polling was ongoing at the unit.  Two persons suspected to be agents of one of the political parties involved in Saturday’s supplementary governorship election in Bayelsa have been arrested for allegedly snatching a ballot box. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the suspects were arrested by soldiers at Otuokpoti Unit 1, Ward 2, Ogbia Local Government Area, where the box was allegedly snatched. The suspects were said to have forcefully carried the ballot box while polling was ongoing at the unit. The incident caused pandemonium at the unit but after the suspects were taken away, accreditation and voting resumed. An Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) official in the ward, who did not want to be named, confirmed that security reinforcement had been sent to the area and that election would continue.
