Genevieve Nnaji Meets With IMF DG, Christine Lagarde

Nollywood actress, Genevieve Nnaji, planning a base in the federal capital territory may not be a bad idea though as it will give her the opportunity of meeting with top government dignitaries in no time.
The actress was recently spotted at a construction site in Abuja, with many having the feeling that she might be making plans to acquire a property or have an investment in the city.
As many kept pondering on what the actress who loves being private was up to, she then sent her fans clapping as she revealed some memorable pictures she shared with the visiting Director General of International Monitoring Fund (IMF) Christine Lagarde, in Abuja.
Already had her table reserved for her, the actress explained that she sees the opportunity given to her as an honour to be seated with such a strong woman.
In her words, “So honoured to have been in a room filled with strong, inspiring and impactful women. What a way to kick off the year.”

Abuja High Court Awards N1million Damages Against Nigeria Police - See Details

An Abuja High Court has asked the the Nigeria Police to pay up to N1 million damages to a man for going against standard practice. An FCT High Court sitting in Jabi, on Friday awarded N1 million damages against the Nigeria Police for detaining one Mark Sani for seven days without trial. According to Vanguard, Justice Halilu Yusuf who awarded the cost said the Police breached the fundamental human rights of Sani. Yusuf said although the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria provides for arrest by the Police, upon suspicion of anybody who committed a crime, such a person must be charged to court within a reasonable period of time. The counsel to Sani, Mr Chinedu Akubue had told the court that Paul Udofia, the first defendant bought a plot of land situated at Lugbe, Abuja from Sani in 2014. Akubue said the land in question was later revoked by the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) later in 2014, which prompted Udofia to report to the police....
